Five areas, five types of buyers
The character, entry level and type of property vary by area. Read them in order and pay close attention to the trade-offs for each area.
Estepona
Andalusian town with a proper centre, a working fishing port and plenty of new-builds on the west side. Inhabited all year round.
New Golden Mile
The strip between Estepona and Marbella. Almost exclusively new-build, spacious and close to the beach. Amenities are still being developed.
Benahavís
Mountain village behind the coast. Villas, golf and views, with a car being an essential part of daily life. Quiet, even in August.
Marbella
The most famous address on the coast. High-quality schools, clinics and hospitality, and the highest entry price. Busy in high season.
Mijas and Fuengirola
Further east and closer to Málaga. Predominantly existing properties, a lower entry price and a more Spanish demographic.
